IMO FIRST LADY CELEBRATES 2012 CHRISTMAS FOR CHILDREN



 The wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha has urged the children in the State to be fervent in lifting up their parents, families, leaders, State government and the nation in prayers so that the collective dreams and aspiration of making Imo better will be achieve

Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha stated this at a Christmas party with the theme, “Rescue Santa Goes to School” she organized for Imo children at the Hero’s Square along Imo Concorde hotel road, New Owerri.

She reminded the children that with honesty and hard work, the sky will be their limit towards whatever they aim at in life; hence she enjoined them to be serious in their studies and obedient to their parents and teachers.

The Imo first lady requested the children to be good ambassadors of their families, the State and the nation at large by exhibiting good morals while appealing to parents to give quality time to their children especially during this festive period and teach them good morals to enable them perform optimally as future leaders

The member for Ideato North in the Imo State House of Assembly, Barr. Eudora Igwe, the Commissioner for Affairs and Social Development, Lady Anne Dozie and the Chairman, Imo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Uche Ejiogu commended the wife of the governor for her love for Imo children and admonished children to use the Christmas holiday to study their books and assist their parents at home as well as to have the fear of God
 
In their separate good will messages at the occasion, the Directors, Staff and Students of the three zones in the State, felicitated with her Excellency, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha on the successful hosting of the entire Imo children to a Christmas party thereby making Imo children feel that they are not left out in the scheme of things of the Rescue Mission government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha
In a thought provoking sermon at the occasion, a young pastor, Evangelist Donald Kelvin of the Assemblies of God Church, Owerri while reflecting on the Gospel of St. John 14:3 noted that Christmas is the period we commemorate the birth of the Son of God and appealed to children to shun sin in all ramification and come back to the Lord for their salvation.

The occasion which attracted Imo children from different Schools in the State has in attendance among others, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Lady Ihuoma Agbaso, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Anne Dozie, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Adaobi Obasi

Some of the children: Miss Chinazo Okpara of the Victory International Nursery and Primary School, Okpala, Cynthia Nwoke, Stanley Lemchi and Ginikanwa Lucky could not hide their joy and prayed God to grant the governor’s wife more fruitful years.   
High points of the occasion were drama, folklores, calisthenics, different cultural dancing groups, fashion parade, motivational speeches, recitation, spiritual renditions and cutting of Christmas cake
