Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha disclosed this when the
Federacion International De Abogadas (FIDA) Imo State chapter paid her a
courtesy visit in her office at the government house, Owerri to present her the
newly elected executive members of the association
She gave kudos to former executive members of the
association led by Barr Ine Nnadi for always identifying with her in her
different functions and for working hand in hand with her and urged the new
executives led by Barr Ethel Ogechi Echebima to maintain the already
established relationship for continuity sake
The first lady while intimating the association with her
programmes through which she touches people’s lives such as the SNARP in which
she provides roof for indigent widows, Nneoma Kitchen in which she feeds the
poor, among others assured of channeling their request to the appropriate
quarters
She called on the women lawyers (Imo FIDA) and women
political appointees to join force with her in the fight against child theft
and rape which seems to be on the increase
In her address, the newly elected Chairperson of Imo FIDA,
Barr Ethel Ogechi Echebima said they came to present her the newly elected
executives of the association and also solicit her continued recognition,
association encouragement and support in the realization of their mission which
is promotion, protection and preservation of rights, interests and well being
of women and children through the use of legal frame work
They appealed the wife of the governor to include them in
her tour to women related programmes where they can teach them how to protect
themselves and their children from all forms of discrimination, violence and
abuse in society
In another related development, the wife of the governor of
Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha has extended hands of fellowship to
the Police Officers Wives Association towards making Imo better
The wife of the governor showed this when the Police
Officers Wives Association (POWA) led by the wife of the Commissioner of
Police, Hajia Idiat Ali paid her a courtesy visit at the government house
Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha described the relationship
between her office and POWA as awesome and wonderful and called on them to
maintain it while promising to channel their request to the appropriate
quarters
Speaking, the leader of the group and wife of the Imo State
Commissioner of Police, Hajia Idiat Ali said one of the problems facing their
association is lack of vehicle for transportation of their members especially
when there is a programme that requires their movement as a group and solicit
the wife of the governor for assistance
