Wives have been urged to always make it a point of duty to compliment the efforts of their husbands towards the moral spiritual and financial upliftment of the family

The wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha said this during the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs Ifeanyi Ekwems held at Lamonde Guest House, Owerri

Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha emphasized on the need for married couples to work in one spirit and with one accord in order to attain maruital bliss

She underscored the importance of tolerance, understanding and communications among couples, stressing that these were the vital ingredients to a successful marriage

She described the groom, Mr. Ifeanyi Ekwems  whom she said was like a son to her, having served the Okorochas family for several years, as a dedicated, humble and hardworking man and wished him and his wife the best of married life

The couple, Mrs. and Mrs. Ifeanyi Ekwems expressed gratitude to God for making their marriage a reality and appreciated the presence and support of the governor and his family at their wedding ceremony

IMO FIRST LADY DISCLOSES THE RESOLUTION OF IMO WOMEN

The wife of the Imo State governor, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha said it was the resolve of Imo women that every Imo woman will go by the name, NNEOMA- (the good mother) to always remind them of their good motherly role in families as there something in nam

Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha disclosed this when the Federacion International De Abogadas (FIDA) Imo State chapter paid her a courtesy visit in her office at the government house, Owerri to present her the newly elected executive members of the association

She gave kudos to former executive members of the association led by Barr Ine Nnadi for always identifying with her in her different functions and for working hand in hand with her and urged the new executives led by Barr Ethel Ogechi Echebima to maintain the already established relationship for continuity sake

The first lady while intimating the association with her programmes through which she touches people’s lives such as the SNARP in which she provides roof for indigent widows, Nneoma Kitchen in which she feeds the poor, among others assured of channeling their request to the appropriate quarters

She called on the women lawyers (Imo FIDA) and women political appointees to join force with her in the fight against child theft and rape which seems to be on the increase

In her address, the newly elected Chairperson of Imo FIDA, Barr Ethel Ogechi Echebima said they came to present her the newly elected executives of the association and also solicit her continued recognition, association encouragement and support in the realization of their mission which is promotion, protection and preservation of rights, interests and well being of women and children through the use of legal frame work

They appealed the wife of the governor to include them in her tour to women related programmes where they can teach them how to protect themselves and their children from all forms of discrimination, violence and abuse in society

In another related development, the wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha has extended hands of fellowship to the Police Officers Wives Association towards making Imo better

The wife of the governor showed this when the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) led by the wife of the Commissioner of Police, Hajia Idiat Ali paid her a courtesy visit at the government house

Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha described the relationship between her office and POWA as awesome and wonderful and called on them to maintain it while promising to channel their request to the appropriate quarters

Speaking, the leader of the group and wife of the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Hajia Idiat Ali said one of the problems facing their association is lack of vehicle for transportation of their members especially when there is a programme that requires their movement as a group and solicit the wife of the governor for assistance

IMO FIRST LADY SAYS NNEOMA KITCHEN BRINGS BACK THE CULTURE OF BROTHERLY LOVE (COMMUNALISM)

The wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechinyere Rochas Okorocha said the Nneoma Kitchen aims as bringing back in the State  the Culture of brotherly love, brotherly sharing “I am because we are” which as result of events is gradually eroding away in society

Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha stated this at the Sam  Okwaraji International Sports Stadium, Orlu where the Nneoma Kitchen train fed about six thousand  people with children from different Special homes in the area

She said it is a culture that requires us to be our brother’s keeper and prayed that this Culture with which we are known for must not be allowed to go into extinction adding that by so doing Imo must better

The Imo first lady prayed God to grant the people of the area good health of mind and body as they partook of the meal from the Nneoma Kitchen

It will be recalled that the  Nnneoma Kitchen is one of the strategies the Rescue Mission government evolved through the pet project of the wife of the governor to fulfill the Scriptural injunction of the feeding and clothing of the less priviledge in society

Speaking, a Commissioner designate and a onetime Mayor of Orlu zone, Ichie Best Mbanasor while expressing his excitement at the gesture said he was not surprised that such is happing in the State as he attributed the success story to God who is at the helm of affairs in the rescue mission government

In his remarks, the Sole Administrator of Orlu LGA while welcoming the wife of the governor described the gesture of the Nneoma Kitchen as democracy in action, reaching out to people and touching their lives

The Director General of Imo foundation, Barr Mgozi Njoku said nobody could carry out this exercise if she has no milk of human kindness and prayed God to strengthen her Excellency more to continue with this good work she is doing in the State

Eze Emmanuel Okeke, the Deputy Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Orlu Zone could not hide his joys at what the Imo first lady is doing in the State and called on the people of the area to rally round the governor and his wife as they have been tested and trusted

High points of the occasion were presentation of  bags of rice, rolls of tissue papers, tins of powdered milk, special toys for children in the homes, cartons of pampers, cartons of eva soap, cartons of tomatoes, bags of salt, bags of Omo, cartons of sugar, cartons of indomie, cartons of milo, blue band magarine, juice and clothes to the special homes in the area; and the feeding and clothing of the people of the area

IMO FIRST LADY CALLS ON PEOPLE TO ALWAYS APPRECIATE GOD

The wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha has enjoined people in the State to always be appreciative of God in all they do and seek for his intervention in their efforts to better the society

Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha stated this at a thanksgiving mass in honour of Chief Uche Nwosu by the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Eziama Obaire and the one year anniversary of the dedication of their parish

She said the decision to thank God in every human endeavour is one thing every individual or group should take seriously for it is out of God’s grace that all successes are celebrated   

The Imo first lady commended the people of Eziama Obaire , St. Michael’s Catholic parish,  the parish council and the parish priest for the honour done to Uche Nwosu, her son-inlaw for his contributions to the growth of the community

In his homily, the parish priest of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Eziama Obaire, Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Ihebinike said the people are appreciating God for what he has done for the community through their Chief Nwosu and admonish Christians to at all times thank God for uplifting someone around them

Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary to the Imo State Government, Prof. Anthony Anwuka described Chief Uche Nwosu as a bundle of humility whose life no matter the position he finds himself is exemplary

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Sir Jude Ejiogu said the gathering was one but too many as the young man, Chief Uche Nwosu is one who has won the heart of so many with his gentle disposition and urge other political office holders to emulate his virtues

Responding, Chief Uche Nwosu said he lacks words to express how he feels to be honoured but attributed his successes in life to his humility and respect to all manner of people no matter their status in the society

He thanked members of the St. Michael’s Catholic Parish and the entire people of Eziama Obaire for coming out en masse to thank God on his behalf       

IMO GOVERNOR CHARGES POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS TO SEE THEIR APPOINTMENTS AS A CALL TO DUTY

The governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has enjoined all the political office holders in the State to regard their appointments as a call to duty that requires their resolve to imbibe the virtue of humility, sacrifice, anger management and caution in the discharge of their duties

Owelle Rochas Okorocha stated this at a training workshop with the theme, “Getting Acquainted with the Vision of the Visioner” organized by the Imo State government for all political office holders in the State at the Sam Mbakwe Expanded Exco Chambers, Government house, Owerri

He advised the appointees not to see their different positions as compensation, a chance to get back at their opponents or an opportunity to amass wealth

The number one Imo citizen while advising the appointees to be industrious, and dedicated to duty so as to make their own contribution towards the development of the State said the aim of the workshop was to enable them key into the vision and mission of the Rescue Mission administration so as to avoid abuse of office and also to equip them for effective work as foot soldiers

The wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha lectured the trainees on Protocol and Etiquette in Governance as an important aspect of government business as it presents government functionaries either in the positive or negative light in the eyes of the public and urged political appointees whom she described as “image carriers” of the State to understand the proper way of conducting themselves in public during social / public function

Other issues handled in the workshop included bringing governance to the masses, enlightening Imo people on the programmes and achievements of the Rescue Mission government, protocol and communication in governance, the Governor in the eyes of the public, the political appointees and the elites to bring the government to an acceptable frame work as well as good works of the Rescue Mission government

Participants at the training were given the opportunity to contribute to the way forward as well as deliberate on the critical elements of good governance that will enlighten the public on the project of government spread across 27 LGA of the State
