IMO STATE GOVERNMENT DONATES N1M TO A PATIENT FOR KIDNEY TRANSPLANT




In pursuance of the health policy of the State government to provide health care service delivery to Imo people, Gov. Rochas Okorocha has through the Imo Foundation donated one million Naira to a kidney patient to assist him undergo a kidney transplant in India

Presenting the money on behalf of the State government to the cousin of the beneficiary, Mr. Jerry Okpara, the wife of the governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha prayed God to grant the patient, Mr. John Achilike quick recovery

The Director General of Imo Foundation, Barr Ngozi Njoku recalled that when Mr. Achilike from Avuvu in Ikeduruu came for assistance our amiable governor gladly approved it immediately and thanks to him for the kind gesture and his magnanimity

Receiving the money on behalf of his cousin, Mr. Okpara said the governor’s action was a genuine demonstration of love and care.

He said the money will go a long way towards reducing the financial burden on the family disclosing that his cousin was already in India for the transplant
