Three indigent homeless widows from Ohaji / Egbema, Oguta
and Oru west LGAs are now among those who are proud owners of the ultra modern
two bedroom bungalow each built, furnished and commissioned by the wife of the
governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha under her She Needs A Roof
Project
While performing the ceremony of the handing over of the
keys to the beneficiaries, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas said she was moved by her passion
to give succor to the less priviledged especially the indigent widows and
thanked God for using her as an instrument for achieving this.
She emphasized the importance of touching lives according to
the biblical injunction that whatsoever one does to uplift the living standard
of the less priviledged in society, one does for God and must surely receive a
reward, hence she solicited the support of all to provide shelter for the
indigent widows in the State
In their respective remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Imo State
House of Assembly, Pharm. Donatus Ozoemena, the Secretary to the Government of
Imo State, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, the Sole Administrator of Oru West LGA, Chief
John Okonkwo, the SA to the governor on Youth Affairs, Mr. Festus Onyekulisi,
the President ISOPADEC women association, Lady Theresa Ohanuba commended the
wife of the governor for improving the living standard of the indigent widows
in Imo State
Speaking at the occasion, the member representing Ohaji /
Egbema State Constituency, Chief Luke Chukwu,the Chairman ISOPADEC Board, Rev.
Emma Ebomuche, the sole administrators of Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema, Chief Henry
Igbomezie and Chief Chukwudi Ariaga respectively thanked the wife of the
governor for her benevolence and pledged their support to the programme
The beneficiaries: Mrs Helen Nwakaji from Ohaji/Egbema LGA,
Mrs. Cecilia Ubah from Oguta LGA and Mrs Theresa Ozor never ceased from
praising God and thanking the wife of the governor for giving them a new lease
in their lives
