12 two-bedroom bungalows to be buit for 12 women by Imo First Lady

Wife of the governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha in her passion to ensure that women are given a sense of belonging in society has assured twelve women from twelve local government areas of the State that in four weeks time she will complete and furnish a two bedroom bungalow for each of them.

Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha gave this assurance when she embarked on the tour of the twelve local government areas: Owerri West, Owerri Municipal, Owerri North, Ahaizu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ezini Ihite Mbaise, Obowo Ehima Mbano, Isialal Mbano, Onuimo, Nwangele, and Nkwerre of the State to ensure that only genuine indigent widows benefited from the programme.

This is in continuation of her project She Needs A Roof Programme  (SNARP) aimed at providing shelter for at least one indigent widow in the LGAs of the State of which four women in three LGAs are  already enjoying their own

The Imo first lady said the essence of governance is impacting positively on the lives of the governed adding that she was motivated to build the houses for the poorest of the poor in the State by her passion to touch lives positively

She used the occasion to once more call on the wealthy people in society to assist the less priviledged among them and advised those who are yet to benefit from the programme to exercise patient and be prayerful.

In their separate remarks, the members for Owerri west, Owerri municipal, and Ahaizu Mbaise State Constituencies in the Imo State House of Assembly: Chief Innocent Eke, Dr. Victor Mere and Mrs Adaku Ihuoma respectively, as well as the Special Assistant to the governor on Women Mobilization, Mrs. Getrude Oduka described the gesture as real Rescue Mission in action for indigent people and expressed their appreciation.

The elated beneficiaries of her Excellency’s magnanimity: Augustina Dike, Anastacia Nwogu, Sussana echebere, Anthonia Duruodunze, Ngozi Ndukaji, Stella Akalonu, Virginia Akuonye, Agnes Keke, Alozie Cecilia, Onyinyechi Nnadigwe, Christiana Iheonu and Helen Nwakaji commended her for opening a new chapter in their lives and prayed God to continue to bless her, her husband and family for the wonderful gestures which they said is first of its kind.
