IMO FIRST LADY URGES THE WELL TO DO TO REMEMBER THE POOR





The wife of the governor, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha has reminded the well to do in society to make it a point of duty to assist improve the living standard of the downtrodden in their midst as life is meaningless if you can not impact the less priviledged ones

She gave this reminder note at the commissioning of the ultra modern two bedroom bungalows she built and furnished for three indigent widows in Isu, Nwangele and Nkwerre LGAs under her ‘She Needs A Roof Programme’ (SNARP)

While handing over the buildings to the beneficiaries, the wife of the governor solicited collaborative efforts to reduce poverty in the State

She urged those indigent widows who are yet to benefit from the programme to exercise patience and put their trust in God while reassuring Imo people that she will construct ten of such buildings in every local government area in the State under her SNARP project

In their reactions, the member representing Nwangele in the Imo State House of Assembly, Mr. Ugonna Ozirigbo and his counterparts from Isu and Nkwerre LGAs, Barr. Ikenna Emeh and Chief Obinna Okwara respectively as well as the sole administrator of Nwangele LGA, Happiness Nwaogaraku said the humanitarian act will remain indelible in the minds of Imo people and pledged their maximum support to the project

Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Chief Uche Nwosu, the SA to the governor on Project Monitoring, Prince Macdonald Akano, the Sole Administrator of Isu LGA, Chief Val Osuala, his Nkwerre LGA counterpart, Chief Gabriel Anowai described the gesture as a challenge to well meaning citizens of the State


The beneficiaries: Mrs. Stella Nwaorisa from Isu LGA, Mrs. Onyinyechi Nnadikwe from Nwangele LGA and Mrs. Christiana Iheonu from Nkwerre LGA expressed gratitude to the wife of the governor for improving their standard of living
