IMO WOMEN INTIMATES THE GOVERNOR ON 2013 AUGUST MEETING



 
The Imo First lady, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha and a cross section of the women of Imo State  have paid a courtesy visit on the Governor, Owelle Rcohas Okorocha to intimate him on the nature of 2013 August meeting.

Addressing the women at the Dr. Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, government house Owerri, Gov. Rochas Okorocha assured them that the State government has approved giving the Imo August meeting a legal backing so that it can captured in the State budget

Owelle Rochas Okorocha pledged the support of his government to the August meeting while describing it as unique and used the forum to declare it open

The number one Imo citizen poured encomium on Imo women saying they are reliable and great allies and promised to carry them along in the scheme of things in the State.

He commended his wife, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha for the life changing programmes, the She Needs A Roof Project (SNARP), she embarked on towards alleviating the poor living conditions of indigent widows.

Speaking about the importance of keeping surroundings clean in the State, the Imo State governor charged his wife to liaise with Community Government Council to mobilize women in the State to ensure that streets and roads in State are kept clean, while promising that One Million Naira will be giving to the cleanliest town, five hundred thousand Naira to the community that comes second while the third position community will bag two hundred and fifty thousand Naira

The wife of the governor said the aim of their visit was to brief the governor on the activities lined up for this year’s Imo Women August meeting starting from Thursday, August 1st 2013 with the theme, “Managing Stress and Unity of Purpose”

Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha said so many Imo women have distinguished themselves in their different fields of endeavours and never disappointed the State, and solicited the governor to appoint more women in the State Cabinet in fulfillment of the thirty-five percent affirmation
